Winter: Boy, Bye
Spring has sprung. Blah, blah, blah. You've heard every cheese ball springtime quote in the book, but what does it mean for our closets?
As Californians, I know we like to lie to ourselves and pretend we have seasons. Truth is, the median temperature on any given Southern California day is somewhere in the 70s. Nonetheless, other than NYC, we are the trendsetters of this country. We DO change the way we dress from season to season because Californians are "extra" and we always like to "do the most."
One of my favorite things about spring and summer is the opportunity to wear bright colored nail polish. Now, you might not feel compelled to wear bright pink polish on your fingernails, but toenails are fair game! The way I see it, a POP of color is a POP of personality...And we all know I love some personality.
Another quick and easy way to change things up for spring is to consider highlights or lightening your hair in some way. If not highlights, consider a beautiful, honey-toned ombre or balayage.
My hairstylist, Sharon Barker of LeShay's Salon & Spa (Irvine, CA), came up with my current mix of hair colors. I can not take any credit for my current look, but it suits me perfectly. Make sure you go to a hair salon and stylist that puts your hair health at the forefront, but also has a great eye for style. You want to go to a stylist that will come up with tailor fit looks for YOU. Develop a relationship with your stylist so you can work as a team to achieve your hair dreams. I am fortunate. I have been going to the same hairstylist since I was 5 years old (now newly 28 years old). Not only is she my hairstylist, but we have a very close personal relationship as she is one of my role models and a mother figure. Now, not everyone can be so blessed to have that relationship with their hairstylist, but be sure to find someone who makes you feel comfortable.
So don't be afraid to try something new for Spring 2017!
Or... if you love your current look:
Keep doing you, boo!
