Biodara: Organic Luxury Skincare
Biodara Organic Luxury Skincare is an eco-conscious brand based out of Huntington Beach, CA. They combine modern science with natural and organic bioactive botanicals to create phenomenal products. Their packaging is minimalist, chic, and luxurious... right up my alley!
I also love the story behind the founding of the brand. Mimi Kim started the company based on her own experience with an autoimmune disease. One of my dear friends (Erica, I love you) was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a few years back and I remember her having to no longer relax her hair because of the harsh chemicals. What we put in or on our bodies does seep. We MUST be conscious. I know I keep telling you guys this, but I really have to drive it home. I will never stop advocating for deliberate choices for our mind, body, and soul.
Mimi sent me their Jade Massage Roller, Cell Refresh Face Serum, and Creme de Clay Purifying Mask (and an adorable headband, perfect for skincare time). Let's chat about them.
This is my first jade roller (can you believe it?!) So, I never really knew what jade rollers were for. I would always see them, but never really understood. Now that I have one of my own, oh my goodness. I AM IN LOVE. I use it to "roll" serums into my skin. It is best used in the morning. You can put it in the fridge for a nice pick me up to start the day. I think this jade roller needs its own blog post (how to use), but I'm giving you a quick overview.
Ingredients: Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis(Jojoba) Oil*, Camellia Sinensis (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Extract*, Sambucus Nigra (Elderberry) Fruit Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil*, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Oil*, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil*, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Oil*.
I like to use this after the clay mask below. One of the great things about this serum is that it is not sticky. It also absorbs into the skin quite nicely. There is something to be said for non-sticky serums that absorb quickly. Can I get an amen? When I apply this at night, I wake up with my skin feeling renewed.
Ingredients: Water, Bentonite (Calcium Montmorillionite), Argentum Metallicum (Silver), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract*, Ascophyllum Nodosum (Kelp) Extract*, Populus Tremuloides (Aspen Bark) Extract**, Roasted Bamboo Sea Salt, Argania Spinosa Kernel (Argan) Oil*, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil*, Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa) Oil*
I really want to call this "creme de la creme," but I digress. This is one of those masks where you can visibly see your skin looking cleaner after you wash it off. You can literally see that impurities have been stripped from your skin. It does sting a bit once you've been wearing it for a while (minute 10 or so), but this is not uncommon for masks like this. I am also pleased there is a fair amount in the jar. Since you only need a thin layer, it's a purchase that is worth your while.
