Sahajan Skincare: Science of Intuition

Sahajan Skincare: Science of Intuition

Sahajan is a Canadian based skincare line started by Lisa Mattam. The line prides itself on being both natural and evidence-based. That means, not only is this line free of anything unnatural or synthetic, but it's also rooted in science and evidence. We know we can trust a line like Sahajan because it is based on the 5,000 year old science of Ayurveda. If you're not familiar with Ayurveda, allow me to enlighten you (if you ARE familiar with it, you'll understand that corny pun).

"Ayurveda, translated from Sanskrit, means the Science of Life. It’s a mind-body science that reminds that us we need to be in balance. Modern day stressors, the environment, and our diet get us out of balance. Ayurveda seeks to understand each person’s unique needs and looks to plant-based remedies, yoga, meditation and other practices to achieve that balance." -Sahajan Website

I was familiar with Ayurveda and I was so excited to try these products. I had the pleasure of trying a cream and a serum. Keep reading to learn about my experience.

Nourish Face Cream

  • Triphala: A powerful antioxidant with 20x the amount of Vitamin C as an orange which helps to brighten the look of skin
  • Gotu Kola: Known to stimulate the production of collagen, this powerful herb that helps reduces the appearance of wrinkles and firms the skin
  • Coconut Oil: Deeply hydrates and adds a glow that makes the skin look brighter

Ingredients: Water/Eau/Aqua, Glycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Camellia Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Garcinia Indica Seed Butter, Candelilla/Jojoba/Rice Bran Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Glyceryl Stearate, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Cetyl alcohol, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Terminalia bellerica fruit extract, Terminalia Chebula Extract, Emblica Officinalis Fruit Extract, Dehydroacetic acid, Benzyl alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance (Parfum), Tocopheryl acetate

This cream is great for hydration. If you're struggling to find a product that will help your skin retain moisture and elasticity, this is it. The formula is thick and a little bit goes a long way so you definitely get your money's worth. I would recommend this to my readers who have dry skin or more mature skin. I think this would work wonders on their skin. I have combination skin so I only needed a very minimal amount of product or else it would not absorb as fast as I would like (because I have 0 patience when it comes to waiting for things to absorb). So, if you do have combination skin or oily skin, I would recommend being conscious of how much you put on.

Radiance Face Serum

  • Triphala: A powerful antioxidant with 20x the amount of Vitamin C as an orange which helps to brighten the look of skin
  • Gotu Kola: Known to stimulate the production of collagen, this powerful herb helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and firms the skin
  • Hyaluronic acid: Nature’s moisture magnet, it increases hydration, improves elasticity, and smoothes the look of fine lines

Ingredients: Water/Eau/Aqua, Glycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Terminalia Bellerica Fruit Extract, Terminalia Chebula Extract, Emblica Officinalis Fruit Extract,Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance (Parfum), Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide

This serum made my skin feel like heaven. I kid you not, I can't think of a product that has left my skin feeling softer. The formula is different than any other serum I've tried, as it has more of a creamy (almost milky) texture as opposed to the gel-ish texture many serums have. This product will help your skin have that youthful glow we all crave and need. For my more mature readers, this will help with fine lines. I love the way this product leaves my skin feeling like silk and would recommend it to all skin types.
