Red Earth Beauty
I love trying beauty brands from all over the world. I believe that’s the only way to truly stay on top of the most innovative beauty solutions. If you only use stateside brands, you’re truly doing yourself a disservice. The world has so much to offer and so many beauty secrets to share. Why limit yourself? Today’s brand comes to us from Australia.
Red Earth Beauty is a skincare and makeup line that continues to reinvent itself. They are fun-loving, unique, and use many ingredients that I have not seen widely used in American skincare. I tried one of their serums, a moisturizer, and a primer of sorts. Let’s get into the details.
Ingredents: AQUA (WATER), GLYCERIN, HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, SODIUM HYALURONATE, SQUALANE, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), NIACINAMIDE, MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, AVENA SATIVA EXTRACT, TREHALOSE, UREA, SERINE, CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER) FRUIT EXTRACT, GLYCERYL STEARATE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, FUCUS VESICULOSUS EXTRACT, MACROCYSTIS PYRIFERA EXTRACT, SUCROSE, SODIUM ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, LECITHIN, GLYCERYL POLYACRYLATE, SUCROSE PALMITATE, GINKGO BILOBA LEAF EXTRACT, MANNAN, ALGIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, PULLULAN, DISODIUM PHOSPHATE, XANTHAN GUM, POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, GLYCERYL STEARATE CITRATE, SODIUM PCA, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, UNDECANE, TRIDECANE, PHENOXYETHANOL, BENZOIC ACID, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, PARFUM
Tasmanian kelp is something I had never heard of and I was eager to learn about what it does for the skin. Apparently, Tasmanian kelp is highly moisturizing, helps prevent water from leaving the skin, and improve skin’s elasticity. Nobody wants dry and dull skin so I was like, “SIGN ME UP.”
The formula of this serum is very light. Many serums I’ve previously tried felt a bit sticky. I don’t necessarily mind the sticky feeling of the serums I’ve tried in the past because it made me feel like I was giving my skin some additional elasticity. However, I’m not saying I totally loveeee feeling sticky. So, if that sticky feeling has turned you off, I think you may hit the jackpot when trying this serum. Since it’s not sticky, it dries fast and will wear well under makeup. If you have combination skin or oily skin (I have combo skin), I think you can get away with using a product like this. However, for my dry skin ladies, I think you will need something a little more hydrating.
Ingredients: AQUA (WATER), MACADAMIA TERNIFOLIA SEED OIL, DICAPRYLYL CARBONATE, SQUALANE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, OLIVOYL HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, GLYCERYL STEARATE, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA BUTTER), HYDROLYZED COLLAGEN, GLYCERIN, FUCUS VESICULOSUS EXTRACT, MACROCYSTIS PYRIFERA EXTRACT, TREHALOSE, UREA, SERINE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, CUCUMIS SATIVUS (CUCUMBER) FRUIT EXTRACT, GLYCERYL POLYACRYLATE, ALGIN, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, SODIUM HYALURONATE, PULLULAN, AVENA SATIVA EXTRACT, GINKGO BILOBA LEAF EXTRACT, DISODIUM PHOSPHATE, POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, PARFUM, PHENOXYETHANOL, BENZOIC ACID, DEHYDROACETIC ACID
Again, all of their products are very non-greasy. It’s truly a beautiful thing. This lotion gets the job done and doesn’t take forever to dry. Similar to the Tasmanian kelp serum, I think this product would be best for my ladies with combination skin or oily. As I mentioned above, I have combination skin. This means my t-zone gets oily halfway through the day and the rest of my skin is normal. I have many friends who have dry skin and I can’t see this product absorbing into their skin and keeping it hydrated all day.
Ingredients: WATER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, NEOPENTYL GLYCOL DIETHYLHEXANOATE, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, CI 77019, CI 77891, GLYCERIN, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, SORBITAN ISOSTEARATE, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, PANTHENOL, SILICA, TRIBEHENIN, FRAGRANCE, DIMETHICONE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, DISODIUM EDTA
This is a very interesting product. You’re supposed to use it after skincare and before makeup to make you glow/look more luminous. I guess you could call it a primer of sorts. I definitely still used my normal Smashbox primer LOL, butttt I can see this working well for my ladies that are concealer/BB Cream/CC Cream girls. I wear foundation so I prefer to use a traditional primer. I wear NARS Luminious Weightless All Day Foundation in Cadiz. I’ve been wearing it since 2015, in case you wanted to know, but I digress…
Before I spiral into an abyss about why I love my foundation, let’s get back to the topic at hand. As I’ve said about all of the Red Earth products, the formula is super light. It seems as though they designed their entire line that way and what a blessing that is. I think you can definitely use this as your primer if you’re a light makeup kind of girl. I would not say it has any highlighting properties, but again, I am someone who uses actual highlighters. If you’re looking for something super subtle, this may be your godsend.
All in all, I love how light each formula is and drying fast is super important for when I get ready in the morning. I don’t think they would be suited for those with dry skin, but definitely give them a try if you have combination or oily skin. As always, you can click the underlined product names for purchase or to learn more. I hope this review provided you insight and pertinent informative (from my point of view). I will see you all next time!
