M.A.C. Summer Lipstick Must Haves: Natural Born Leader & Life in Sepia
When it comes to makeup, lipstick is my absolute favorite. I love, love, loveeee the feeling of getting a new lipstick. There is something about lipstick that is uniquely ultra feminine and girly, even in comparison to other makeup products. All that being said, I’m rather conservative with the lipstick colors I like to wear. I’m not the type of gal you’ll see rocking blue or black lipstick (though I say, “Go GIRLLLL” to anyone who does). I like pinkish nudes, brownish nudes, mauve-ish reds, corals, and regular mauves. Ya girl is not too adventurous. But hey, you know that by now. You're likely not following me if you’re looking for edgy style.
So, today, I have two lipsticks you need to add to your collection. They both hail from the new Electric Wonder Collection by M.A.C.
For starters, the packaging is TO DIE FOR. It’s truly unreal and as someone who has a day job in marketing, gorgeous packaging always gets me. On top of the phenomenal packaging, the lip color itself is just as amazing so let’s chat about the two colors I’m currently obsessing over.
Natural Born Leader
This color is sexy yet approachable and I’m here for it, honey! I always gravitate towards colors like this because they give me total “no fuss” vibes. You can easily wear this every day for work or transition to an evening event. Colors like this know no bounds. You need this color. You just do.
Life in Sepia
Since I have some sort of addiction (probably even clinical LOL) to colors like this, I had to get it. I just adore this color family SO much. I live in colors like this. They match so beautifully with my skin tone and I can never say “no” to another addition.
…which actually leads me to an important point…
Find the nude lipstick family that works for YOU. Everyone has different skin tones, but more importantly, different undertones. Find the color family that suits you best and you’ll thank me for it. “Nude” is different for everybody. Also, make sure you're not choosing colors that are “frosty.” In my humble opinion: 1.) that is no longer in style 2.) you look ashy. If you want advice from the Victoria Dickerson Glam Handbook (based solely on my opinion, obviously), choose lipsticks that make your lips look moisturized, supple, and plump.
There you have it! The lipsticks I can’t leave home without as of late.
